Sannai in Nikko City is a place with plenty of historical cultural assets including two famous shrines and one temple (Toshogu Shrine, Rinnoji Temple, and Futarasan Shrine).

We at the Kosugi Hoan Museum of Art, Nikko, introduce to you the world of painting, by a painter, KOSUGI Hoan, who is one of the honorary citizens of Nikko with a basic theme "Affection to Nature". In the planned exhibition that is held four times a year, we will also introduce to you various cultural events in Nikko in the modern period that brought up the painter.

The works owned by Kosugi Hoan Museum of Art, Nikko include the Japanese paintings, oil paintings, watercolor paintings, rough sketches, and writings by KOSUGI Hoan. In addition to these works, we have the collections of "watercolor paintings and rough sketches by YOSIZAWA Gizo" and "watercolor paintings of the shrines and temples in Nikko".
